The All Natural Shave Guide (mens edition)

Conventional shaving products are loaded with chemical foaming agents, lubricants, and plasticizers. Today, we’ll show you how to navigate through it, free from the chemicals, and with better results.

Opt for a natural bar soap rather than shaving cream. Soap provides a creamy lather making for easier glide and a closer shave. Be sure to avoid foaming agents such as SLS as they can dry out and damage skin.

Razors are another area where plasticizers and other hormone disruptors can hide. Watch out for multi blade razors, these typically contain “gliding strips” with petroleum based lubricants on them.

Instead opt for a traditional option, such as a safety razor. They take a bit of practice and adjustment, but once adjusted, most people find they offer a closer shave.

Shaving is rough on skin, and many men find themselves dried out after. The last thing you want to do is lather up with a concoction of petroleum derived alcohols and artificial fragrances. Opt for something that can rehydrate, and lock in moisture while penetrating deep. A few all natural options are:

  • Emu oil

  • Jojoba oil

  • Beef tallow

  • Coconut oil
