Animal Based, Locally Sourced, Time Tested
When it comes to ingredient sourcing, quality is our top priority. That means knowing the entire lifespan of that product, from pasture to packaging. and everything in between.
That’s why we source the primary ingredients for our products from family owned farms and ranches from across Montana. We see the conditions these animals live in, the facilities they’re processed in and know that they’ve been handled responsibly, and humanely.
Because all of these products are sourced and processed in local facilities, we don’t have to worry about our ingredients being cut with cheap fillers, or mixed with other ranches products that may be of lower quality.
Why Animal Based?
We use Animal based ingredients because they are similar to our skins composition, and are able to deliver fat soluble vitamins and nutrients more effectively than plant based alternatives. Animal based ingredients are also more eco friendly because they require less transport, less infrastructure and less refining than other “natural” ingredients, especially when sourced locally.

Raw honey has many benefits on skin including: hydration, anti-inflammation, and wound healing properties.
We source our honey from an award winning bee keeper in Central Montana, Treasure State Honey. Of particular note is that this honey is never raised above hive temperature, which ensures all the beneficial properties of raw honey are retained. During our manufacturing process we keep the honey as cool as possible to ensure that these properties are retained. Because our honey is raw, our Tallow & Honey Balm has a grainy texture, which melts into the skin once applied.

Artificial Fragrances

Artificial colorants
Such as petroleum based dyes and mica powders are commonly used in the skincare industry to color products. Mica powders contain compounds such as titanium dioxide, and iron oxide. Although the risk of cancer from these compounds are low, why put these on your skin when better alternatives exist.
