Rekindling Our Ranching Heritage

Jaden and Skylee Dennis are fifth and sixth generation Montanans, rejuvenating their ranching heritage from both sides of their family. They have a passion for regenerative agriculture, cultivating relationships and investment with local community, and providing the highest quality, Montana grown skincare products.

It all began with a little extra goat milk and a passion for clean ingredients...

Through the process of building a homestead, Jaden and Skylee started to really think about everything that they consumed. “Where is our food from?” “What are the ingredients in our body care?” “How are our clothes made?” were just a few of their questions.
In their search of trying to find out, they found companies keeping secrets, hiding the truth and trying to trick their customers, especially in the body care industry. They realized that if they wanted transparency and traceable, clean ingredients, they we're going to have to make it.
And one day, as Skylee looked at the abundance of goat milk they had, it clicked.
 "We're going to make soap!"
After making their first few batches of goat milk soap they were hooked, they could make the best soap they had ever used without fragrance, preservatives and chemicals, so why were they in other products?
They decided they wouldn’t use anything unless they made it, deodorant, shampoo, plastic luffas and everything else in their off-grid shower house got thrown out.
After removing all of their toxic products form their routine and only using their goat milk soap, things started to change. Skylee’s skin that had been riddled with acne and scarring for 7 years, finally began to clear up.
They knew they had to share this with others. And to make the best products they needed to be traceable, and sourced as close to home as possible. That’s when Jaden decided beef tallow was going to be their primary ingredient.
Since then they’ve developed relationships with local farms and ranches in Montana where they source all of their beef tallow, raw honey and emu oil.
They had a vision for their skincare company that was more than just skincare products. They wanted their business model to support American manufacturing, and to preserve the dying local agriculture idustry, and thats how Rocky Mountain Traders was born.

Our Movement

Rocky Mountain Traders is more than just a skincare company. We take pride in knowing that our locally sourced ingredients are among the best out there, and that our business model puts money back into our local community and keeps ranchers ranching.
We are proud to be a company that values and supports domestic manufacturing, even when thats not always best for the bottom line.
We believe that nature, not laboratories provide the things we need to be healthy.
We believe in product labels that you can pronounce, and know what they actually are.
We believe in buying food from neighbors, not the big box stores whenever possible.
We believe in healthy living, whether thats eliminating toxic skincare products from your bathroom, or buying organic food from your local producer.
We believe in community.

Our Commitment

Quality: We believe that the best ingredients are the ones that require the least processing, which is why we use time tested skincare ingredients like beef tallow, as opposed to low cost, low quality alternatives. We Believe that quality begins at the origin and that’s why we source the primary ingredients for our products from family owned farms and ranches. With an attention to quality, all of our products are hand made in small batch and packaged by hand to ensure all standards are met.
Transparency: We always list our ingredients, in the order they’re used, never using vague terms that can hide ingredients. We never use synthetic chemicals such as Phthalates, Parabens, or Fragrance.
Sustainability: We source the primary ingredients for our products locally, from small farms and ranches that have implemented sustainable practices. We use limited packaging, and whenever possible we use glass or kraft packaging that is recyclable and biodegradable, with an emphasis on limiting plastics.

What you put on your skin matters, and our mission is to make the best possible products with locally sourced ingredients, for a difference you can feel.
